Highly efficientIntroduced in 2021, the IMO Tier III standards demand a 75% reduction of NOx emissions. Our new D16 IMO III engine package is the latest system in our Volvo Penta IMO III range which meets these standards. Our SCR technology enables you to reduce emissions beyond the requirements, while maintaining the same highly efficient combustion. |
Flexible SCR installationOur new D16 IMO III package uses an SCR solution that is optimized for marine use. Exhaust gases are mixed with DEF (diesel exhaust fluid)/UREA (32 to 40 percent) in the SCR unit and there is a separate UREA injector pipe. The two alternative exhaust outlets have been designed for marine standards (6" bolt flanges), which allows for easy installation. |

Complete systemIt couldn’t be easier to meet the standards. Our D16 IMO III solution is a pre-assembled package – as close to a plug and play solution as you’ll find on the market. The complete system includes a DEF tank and sensors to check on the quantity and quality of UREA, plus a dosage pump and control unit. We’ve also reduced noise by up to 35 dBA for comfort on board. |
